When it all quiets down…
My soul is a restless one. It is triggered by beauty and esthetics in so many different forms, from the lines and surfaces of architectural spaces and the way they shape the light, to the harmonies and melodies of musical creations and the play and balance of flavors in a well-executed dish.
This is why, throughout my professional career, I’ve wandered through art history departments, bakeries and editorial offices, finally ending up in the only place that truly harbors this myriad of attractions: my own studio. Today, this is where I develop and photograph recipes (with an undeniable proclivity towards the sweet) and write stories about food, architecture and whatever sparks that sleepless mind of mine.
Yes, my soul is a restless one. But there is one moment in which it inevitably settles down. When I wrap my hands around my morning coffee, everything is still.
