Petter Bäcklund

Petter Bäcklund is a specialized food photographer and food creative based in Stockholm, Sweden. He created some of The Soul of Breakfast recipes and has worked extensively with Cheeses from Switzerland.

When did you realize you had to switch from corporate life to food?

In 2017 Petter used to still be a UX designer in the corporate world but his love for restaurants and great food was already in his heart ready to find it’s creative ways. In hs own time Petter created dishes, took photos and gradually Petter shifted to work on his passion – food photography.

Petter’s food photos are almost a form of art. He loves warm hearty dishes, having friends over for dinner, flavors and textures and enjoys meeting all the craftsmen around food industry. Also as in theme with The Soul of Breakfast he is a massive music lover with a well refined taste.

Petter says he never played any instrument but visits concerts and festivals all over the world. He’s clocked 120 000 playing hours on Spotify. His year in review is basically food and music in his own words. Petter says his taste in music is shifting a bit all the time as there are trends in music and food. When asked about tunes that have had impact in him he mentions “College drop out” by Kanye and the whole she bang with Outkast. With music he says he devours everything – classical, mellow, energized and all things that would have “hipster” label to it. “Music enhances the experiences with food.”, he says and drops another few like Snow Allegros new album and James Blake.
